Model: One verses Ten

December 27, 2007

One is one person.      Ten are ten persons.       That is an easy math.       Anyone can count with his fingers of ten.

One person works in his yard,     Breaking his bricks as well as his back.      Hiring ten helping hands will break his bank.     Oh, well, it is better to leave the bricks but playing games.

One sits in front of a screen,    Gluing eyes and hands onto the screen,       Shooting virtual guns at ten voices across over the net.     There is no real bank to break, but a virtual bank to build.

One is never working in his yard.     Ten praise his professional of whatever,       For there are always ten more different professionals in co-existence with peace and with their banks.     Now, we are counting twelve professions out there at least.

How did we get from one verse ten into verse twelve?    Is it the math wrong?      Is it the counting wrong?     Or is it the whole world wrong?

Resource Cycle

Resource Cycle  - W&P Fog Farm on Read

Today’s kids on Read have joined a frenzy of brand food.        Their picky tongues go through food brands covering this continent,        Ignoring the fact even McDonald has taken saturated fat off shelf        It is interesting, that the kids on Read are in shape without lifting any extra weight.       They call it self governing, routinely dump good food into garbage cans with ease,        Dismiss any complaints of wasting while feeding raccoons with the same addresses on Read.                                                                                                                                        The Jacks on Read are into an environmental frenzy.        The piles of ideas sparked from papers piled up in garages back from Peace Corps in the east.      Jacks spend time on speeches to classes,       Yet, fail bi-weekly opportunities to recycle the paper piles in garages.        Oh, time is flying. It is just too short in Jacks’ life that a good wish reads:     Let us recycle lives adopting from the east!                                                                                                                The Jills on Read are a part of e-mail frenzy since the 80’s.       Jills read all the arrivals in their e-boxes, which cooks no food for any bellies.        It is clean and green on the street of Read,         Yet, the printouts of... Job in my Hut

June 13, 2007

Job in my hut is not very hard.    Job out on the yard is boring plus hot. Job in the mart, awarding me a pretty card,    Yet, I see much prestige following jobs behind doors in dark.

A professor of decades kicked his door in dark open and yelled at the prestige committee behind the door in dark: Let me out of this yard!        He got his wish and went to build the first Chinese economic information website that sparked.

This is the dream land of America.     Majority of doors on the streets are glass.  I have enjoyed window-shopping with an empty cart.    But the lady in diamonds behind glass door whining:      It is a job of making hard choices!

Oh. Take the revolving door out, if it is hard choices.    Let me in with my empty cart.     I was in the door for an hour and dumped my cart before I came back out.    Because the register does not allow me to charge my pretty card!

I have stayed away from the mart and thinking about jobs in my hut:     To build a card that also... [More]

Zone: Limit on Time

April 23, 2007

It was the first time I let go my limit and went to the sparkling night sky.          I got a perfect score, but I am still on earth today.

It was the first time I stepped onto this land and set to practice only English.        I have built my confidence and smuggled myself into higher education.

It was the first time I worked as system analyst and set it my career.        There is no time to regret, but I am getting no pay.

There are abundant credit terms of one month, only if all technicalities are in place.       There are loan offers of six months, only if I can smuggle again.             There are startup favors of one year, only if I take no pay.       There are plans for five years, only if the country has established programs.

Effective programs have been in place exceeding five years.       The house price is rising; the job market is rosy.      Should I regret my career? I am still getting no pay.

Time zones are set for earth today. Peace will be on earth someday.         How relevant these concepts to me?   I am still on earth today.

Zones... [More]

Vote: Silent Majority

April 23, 2007

Internationalized domain name debate triggered the first political protest to a technical standard body on February 10, 2002 by 300 messages.  Yet, its user community of 1.3 billion kept silent.

You have a voice, why did you choose to be silent?        They are not going to listen.

A pollster stopped a man walking out of a Sunday service.     Have you registered to vote?            No.       What did you learn in church today?             That is none of your business.

I am selling links to peace messages.       Will you pay for advertising to spread peace?       How is it relevant to my bottom line?       There is no return on words for peace.

An election drive volunteer tries to get out voters next door.      Her sweet voice drifts over after her knock:    There is a voting machine in this block.      I paid taxes for it last fall.

Voting is effective only when the issue concerns voters, or voters see the relevance of the issue and the result of the vote counts. An information system has to be accountable to function.  Otherwise it is a mud play, but not mine.

Info: Power of 5StepTags

April 23, 2007

          Nail it down

In government, it is the Freedom of Information Act.  In finances, it is titled as due diligence.

In companies, it is printed as accounting fraud.  In mass media, it is called paparazzi.

In information systems, it is nailing a lie down, even if it is conveniently hiding behind security.

The quality of an information system is the basis for its usage.  We have seen mail bots, we have seen spam, we have seen scams. We can flood the system with junk like a child playing with mud (Posting on Exp).  All is education outside boxes (Posting on Edu).  To keep our system rooted in high quality information, it has to be connected to our local community where we live.  It is a homeland security issue that I would leave for another day.  Today, I want to give an example of how 5StepTag system can be used.

Suppose we hear there was a fire in Southern California including a data center down.  People at different locations can quickly learn the who, when and where of the incident by clicking on a few buttons:

1.     LOC to display...

Edu: Outside the Box

April 23, 2007

          Outside the box
Products are boxes of Ts, filing in and out my doors.

Schools are boxes of time, I watch not speaker’s eyebrows but the window for shadow.

Jobs are structured boxes of building, that glasses on floor are ignored.

Learning is not a box of time, nor an institution stamped by dead.

Learning is joy from born till rest in lawn.

Learning is on the street, in the field, out on water, stay overseas or flying to Mars.

Education is a space of unknown: surf on NET, dive in ARCH, dream in PROJ, duck in EDU, build with hand to fill into MOD, to strive for peaceful grow of all mankind.

5StepTag is a label system for Universal Knowledge Frame (UKF).  UKF is an information management system for Education Outside Boxes.

Neon Board

April 23, 2007

         Flashing Neon

Colored neon covers dark night sky.

Firing shouts screens out all high-rises.

The only board flashing into my window was a pair of pink flamingos.

How can it be the only image left from the visit years ago?

Neon is an Ads space for sellers to push information into an enclosed system. Neon board is effective for sellers. The receiver will shut his window if it is considered intrusion.  Designating a neon board space is necessary for both system providers as well as system users.  System providers may learn from user behavior to anticipate changes in user needs, to increase Ads efficiency, and to reduce rewards to mud playing spammers.  System filters can be personalized, and become smarter.
